The Future is Digital: Is Everyone Invited?

The world is moving rapidly toward ubiquitous connectivity that will further change how and where people move, share information, work, go to school and consume media. The COVID-19 pandemic has intensified a fundamental weakness in affluent and underserved communities as it relates to their digital capabilities. People often assume everyone has high speed internet access and therefore, that transitioning from face-to-face to virtual is a flip of the switch. In this fireside chat David Lewis will discuss how AT&T is approaching the digital world to make it more inclusive for underserved communities and AT&T’s work with the next generation of leaders in cities like Detroit and Grand Rapids. It will be a lively conversation about the future of digital and discussing if everyone is invited.

About The Speaker

David C. Lewis

David Lewis, the president of AT&T Michigan since March of 2018, has successfully managed regulatory, legislative, and external affairs, as well as community and industry relations throughout the state of Michigan. Since assuming the state president role, Lewis has quickly become a leader in the Michigan community joining the boards of the Michigan Chamber of Commerce, Detroit Regional Chamber, Detroit Economic Club, Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce and Walsh College. Lewis was also named a Michigan Chronicle Men of Excellence Honoree and as chairperson for the Salvation Army 2019 Red Kettle Campaign. In addition, Lewis spearheaded AT&T’s Believe Detroit initiative, a community and employee engagement initiative aimed at promoting educational opportunities, academic achievement, and a path to self-sufficiency for the Detroit community. David is happily married to Tralicia Powell Lewis and both are proud parents of their daughter, Logan Elise and son David Jr.
