COVID-19 pandemic has hit everyone hard, but communities of color have been hit the hardest, especially black women. Black women represent 42% of all net new women-owned businesses, according to the American Express 2019 State of Women-Owned Businesses. Black women are the fastest-growing group of female entrepreneurs in the United States, but they are significantly under-funded. Regardless they continue to thrive in their businesses. One of the major ways we can support the black community is supporting black women-owned businesses, creatives, musicians and artists. This fireside chat with Jessica Care Moore, an American poet, CEO of Moore Black Press and executive producer of Black WOMEN Rock, focuses on the resilience of Black women creatives during the pandemic.
